High Peak Meditation

On initiation, the meditator is given instructions. These are essentially simple but we are all inclined to make things complicated, to allow ourselves to be distracted or to find our way up blind alleys. Careful checking is needed to ensure that the instructions have been understood and are followed.

Even after years of meditation it is important to seek guidance from time to time. In the solitude and familiarity of our own meditation it is easy to think that everything is basically all right, or to apply a bit of self-administered adjustment if it seems to be wrong. A check is an opportunity for reassurance, if we need it, that we are still on the right path, or a reminder of the instructions if we have deviated from them.
